Basic Papermaking: Kids session (8-12)
4-week session: Wednesday afternoons | 4:30 pm - 6:15 pm
This course is a great introduction into the craft of handmade paper. We will take you through the entire papermaking process starting with how to prepare recycled cotton clothing for pulp all the way to drying your paper. You will learn how to pull sheets of paper using both Western and Eastern style mold and deckles. You will also experiment with different techniques such as making shaped sheets, different layering methods, pulp printing with stencils, embossing, and image transfer.

Playing with Pulp + Paper
Learn the basics of papermaking! How to pull a sheet of paper, make a shaped sheet of paper, multicolored sheets, and inclusions like flower petals and other natural materials. See what else paper pulp can do! Sculpt it, mush it, squeeze it, shape it! We will also experiment with paper by collaging, marbling, folding, and tearing. Parents are invited to learn, play, and create with their little ones. Recommended ages: 1.5/2+ (with parent)
